Product Details: pH-7002 Hemisphere Bubble pH Electrode
Measurement Principle:
The pH-7002 electrode operates on the principle of electrochemistry, specifically leveraging the principles of a galvanic cell. A galvanic cell is a system that converts chemical energy into electrical energy. The voltage produced by this cell is known as the electromotive force (EMF). This EMF consists of two half-cells: one is the measuring half-cell, whose potential is related to the specific ion activity; the other is the reference half-cell, commonly known as the reference electrode, which communicates with the measured solution and is connected to the measuring instrument. The potential difference generated by the galvanic reaction inside the electrode is transmitted to the pH controller, which uses a corresponding algorithm to convert and display the pH value.

Calibration of pH Electrode:
Three-Point Calibration Method: It is recommended to use a three-point calibration method. Start with a pH 4.00 buffer solution for positioning, followed by pH 6.86 and pH 9.18 buffer solutions to determine the slope. For a two-point calibration, use the pH 6.86 buffer solution for positioning first, and then choose the second standard buffer solution based on the acidity or alkalinity of the solution to be measured. For acidic solutions, use a pH 4 buffer solution to determine the slope; for alkaline solutions, use a pH 9.18 buffer solution.
Preheating: After connecting the electrode to the instrument, preheat the instrument for 30 minutes before performing calibration.
Electrode Placement: During calibration, ensure the electrode is vertically placed (with the glass bulb facing downwards) to prevent deviation in mV readings.
Temperature Compensation: For electrodes with temperature compensation, switch the controller to automatic temperature compensation mode.
pH-7002 Hemisphere Bubble pH Electrode Usage Precautions:
Electrode Lead: The electrode lead is a special shielded cable. Do not cut or splice the lead without authorization.
Solution Exposure: Avoid long-term immersion in distilled water or protein solutions, and prevent contact with silicone grease.
Cleaning: For electrodes used for an extended period, the glass membrane may become transparent or have deposits. In such cases, clean it with dilute hydrochloric acid and rinse with water.
Replacement: If the electrode cannot be calibrated or function normally after maintenance, it indicates that the electrode cannot recover its responsiveness and should be replaced.
Water Resistance: The pH electrode cable is not waterproof. Avoid contact with water as much as possible.
Conclusion:
The pH-7002 hemisphere bubble electrode, with its advanced design and robust performance, is ideal for a wide range of applications including industrial processes, wastewater treatment, and exhaust gas treatment. Follow the calibration and usage precautions to ensure accurate and reliable pH measurements.
