 Product Detail : pH-5015 High-Temperature Corrosion-Resistant Glass Electrode

 Product Overview

The pH-5015 high-temperature corrosion-resistant glass electrode is specially designed for pH measurement in high-temperature and highly corrosive environments. It features a thickened cylindrical bulb design that provides excellent resistance to mechanical impact, acids and bases, and thermal shock. The dual-liquid junction structure and lead-free glass material not only meet hygienic requirements but also ensure measurement accuracy and stability.

 Measurement Principle

The pH-5015 electrode operates based on the principle of an electrochemical cell. The internal electrochemical reaction generates a potential difference, converting chemical energy into electrical energy, which is transmitted to the pH controller. After processing with the corresponding algorithms, the pH value is displayed. The electrode consists of a measuring cell and a reference cell, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the measurement results.

 Electrode Slope

The theoretical slope of the glass electrode at 25 °C is 59.16 mV, meaning that for every one pH unit change in solution, the glass electrode generates a 59.16 mV potential change. However, all glass electrodes cannot achieve the theoretical value perfectly. The slope of the pH-5015 electrode is generally above 95% of the theoretical value. Additionally, the mV difference per unit pH varies with temperature, and users can apply the relevant conversion formulas for potential difference correction based on temperature.

 Usage Precautions

- Electrode Wires: The electrode wires are specially shielded cables; do not cut or modify them to avoid inaccurate measurements or electrode damage.

- Soaking Environment: Avoid prolonged soaking in distilled water or protein solutions and prevent contact with organic silicone grease to protect the electrode.

- Maintenance: For long-used electrodes, the glass membrane may become transparent or develop deposits. In this case, rinse with dilute hydrochloric acid and wash with water.

- Electrode Replacement: If the electrode cannot be calibrated or provide normal readings, it indicates that it is beyond recovery. Please replace the electrode promptly.

- Waterproof Measures: The pH electrode wire is not waterproof; avoid contact with water to prevent damage to the electrode.
