pH-5013A ph electrode working principle

The pH-5013A electrode adopts the principle of primary cell in electrochemical method for measurement. The potential difference generated by the reaction of the primary cell inside the electrode is transmitted to the pH controller, and the pH value is displayed through the corresponding algorithm. The electrode consists of two half-cells, one of which is the measuring cell, the potential of which is related to a specific ionic activity; the other half-cell is the reference half-cell, usually called the reference electrode, which is connected to the measuring solution and connected to the measuring instrument.

Precautions for use

The electrode leads are special shielded wires, it is forbidden to cut the leads privately, so as not to affect the measurement accuracy and electrode performance.

Long-term immersion in distilled water or protein solution should be avoided, and prevent contact with silicone grease to avoid damage to the electrode.

When the electrode is used for a long time, its glass film may become transparent or have deposits attached, in this case, it can be washed with dilute hydrochloric acid and rinsed with water to restore the electrode performance.

When the electrode can not carry out the calibration program and normal measurement, it means that the electrode can not restore the response, please replace the electrode in time.

The pH electrode cable is not waterproof and contact with water should be avoided as much as possible to avoid damage to the electrode.
