Radar Doppler Flowmeter
I. Product Introduction
The Radar Doppler Flowmeter is a specially designed instrument for measuring flow velocity and water level in natural water bodies. Utilizing advanced radar technology, the instrument's ranging radar unit operates at 80GHz, while the speed measurement radar unit operates at 24GHz, ensuring accurate measurements even in harsh environments with high suspended sediment content, abundant floating vegetation such as aquatic plants, and during icy conditions. The measurement point is located at the front of the body, without disturbing the flow field, making it suitable for various flow monitoring scenarios such as water level stations, irrigation canals, and sewage and rainwater pipe networks.
II. Measurement Principle
The Radar Doppler Flowmeter operates based on the Doppler effect in physics. When the electromagnetic waves emitted by the radar sensor contact the fluid surface, they produce a frequency shift due to fluid motion. This frequency shift is directly proportional to the fluid velocity. By measuring the frequency difference between the transmitted and received waves, the flow velocity can be determined, and subsequently, the flow rate can be calculated. Additionally, the radar sensor can measure the liquid level by determining the time difference of the reflected waves. This measurement method not only provides high accuracy but is also suitable for two-phase flow measurements, addressing complex flow field issues that other flowmeters find challenging.
